Adopting my first cat, Foxy, has been a life changing experience. Caring for her means going to any length - including custom sewing her a pillow to fit inside a new cat tree. When it came time to stuff the pillow, it only made sense to use the million tiny scrap pieces I have kept from sewing salty suits. Seeing her enjoy this pillow unlocked a deep desire to provide comfort to shelter animals everywhere (cue the Sarah Mclaughlin, if you must) while making the most of the resources I had available.
Thus the Salty Scraps initiative was born - repurposed fabric scraps from our production are made into stuffing for beds that are donated to local Palm Beach County animal shelters.
